How to Forward SMS to Microsoft Teams

Introduction
Route important SMS messages to Microsoft Teams channels so your entire team stays informed. SMS Forwarder integrates with Teams through Incoming Webhooks.
Step 1: Create a Teams Webhook
- Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the channel
- Click the … menu next to the channel name
- Select Connectors (or Workflows)
- Search for Incoming Webhook
- Click Configure, name it “SMS Forwarder”
- Copy the Webhook URL
Step 2: Add to SMS Forwarder
- Open the SMS Forwarder app
- Tap Add Destination
- Select Microsoft Teams
- Paste the Webhook URL
- Tap Save
Step 3: Test
Send a test SMS and verify it appears as a message card in your Teams channel.
Advanced Tips
- Formatted cards: Messages appear as rich cards with sender info and timestamp.
- Multiple teams: Set up webhooks in different channels across your organization.
- Business hours: Use scheduling to only forward during work hours.
Troubleshooting
- Webhook not working? Microsoft may be migrating from Connectors to Workflows. Check your Teams admin settings.
- Messages delayed? Teams webhooks can occasionally have slight delays.
- Permission denied? Ask your Teams admin to enable Incoming Webhooks for your channel.
